MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Softball All-Southeast Region teams were recently announced, with Georgia College junior second baseman Hannah Coursey (Sugar Hill) taking a spot on the second team.
This marks the first career All-Region honor for Coursey, after taking an All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) First Team spot in April. She was one of the top performing second basemen in the region, finishing her junior campaign with a .340 average, 26 runs scored and 28 RBIs. Coursey is the first D2CCA All-Region honoree for Georgia College at second base.
All-time, GC Softball has earned 23 All-Region honors from this system, 14 of which coming during the seven seasons with Jamie Grodecki as head coach.
Bobcat softball's season has come to a close, a 30-19 campaign that saw Georgia College narrowly miss a spot in the NCAA Regional Tournament. The Bobcats put four on the All-PBC teams this season, and have now added two total All-Region honorees, with first baseman Faith Flanders (Dublin) taking National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First Team honors.
