MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Softball team volunteered at the 37th Annual Library Fair at Mary Vinson Memorial Library in Milledgeville Saturday, Sept. 17. The team, which is actively involved in community service, aided by spending time with youth from Baldwin County.
"We are just glad that we could offer some help in putting on such a great event for the community," said head coach Jamie Grodecki. "We played a small role in the day, but we jumped at the opportunity to help. We appreciate what Mary Vinson Library brings to our community and our children here in Baldwin County."
The Bobcat Softball student-athletes helped contribute to the success at this year's event. Alongside the Bobcat team members who administered some of the games for local youth, the event had local entertainment, such as musicians, magicians and an inflatable bounce house.
Throughout the fair, players helped to facilitate activities and collaborated with library staff to create an exciting atmosphere, which included reading with local youth.
The Bobcat team finished last season 30-19 overall record that included a 16-8 mark in conference play. The season begins in February, stay tuned for a 2018 schedule release at GCBobcats.com.
