HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Georgia College softball team (6-4) wrapped up the Charger Chillout at the Kiwanis Sportsplex on a high note Sunday, with victories over Ohio Dominican University (2-4) and defending National Champion and No. 1 University of Southern Indiana (2-4). Despite winning both contests, the Bobcats couldn't have asked for two more different games, going from a 31-run offensive marathon to a one-run pitching duel.

In what was a wild offensive shootout, Georgia College took down Ohio Dominican in game one of the doubleheader by a final score of 20-11. At just under 3 hours, 30 minutes, the Bobcats and Panthers combined for 37 hits and nearly 400 pitches.

Nine Bobcats logged RBIs in the contest, including four from freshman Darby Pinkard (Acworth, Georgia), who also recorded five hits. Senior Caroline Snider (Tennille, Georgia) continued her offensive tear, going 3-for-3 in the game with three RBIs. Junior Amber Coy (Warner Robins, Georgia) also got in on the action, with three hits and three RBI's in game one as the Bobcats defeated the Panthers.

Georgia College's 24 hits in game one came two shy of the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) record, set by the Bobcats against the University of West Georgia in 1995 and by Columbus State University in 2018.

In what was a pitching duel from the onset, sophomore Rebecca Lawrence (Vidalia, Georgia) pitched a gem against Southern Indiana, shutting out the defending champions while holding the Screaming Eagles to just four hits. Lawrence fanned seven and walked just two over seven complete innings.

A timely left field single from Haley Howell (Rochelle, Georgia) in the first was all the Bobcat offense would need on their way to a 1-0 shutout, allowing the team to leave Huntsville with three consecutive wins and a tournament record of 4-2.

Georgia College is back in action Wednesday, Feb. 13 as they travel to Carrollton to take on in-state rival University of West Georgia in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
