MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University department of athletics is pleased to announce a live webcast relationship with PennAtlantic, set to begin Saturday, Jan. 10 for the basketball doubleheader with Lander University, beginning at 2 p.m.
The webcast streaming provides a near-television quality viewing for all Bobcat basketball games for the remainder of the season. The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) is one of many collegiate athletic conferences to broadcast games using PennAtlantic's web streaming technology.
"This is an exciting time for Bobcat basketball fans," said GCSU sports information director Al Weston. "We look at this relationship with PennAtlantic as a great opportunity for fans and parents to watch Bobcat basketball when they can't make the games in person. We've got players from as far away as Montana and California, and I'm sure they'll be taking advantage of the opportunity to watch their kids play."
All of the remaining games will be run on the PennAtlantic webcast server, accessible at www.pennatlantic.com , or through links on the basketball teams' schedule pages. The service is currently pay-per-view, with plans of being offered for free in the future.
"One thing I want to make clear is that this project wouldn't be possible without the continuing efforts from the television services department of University Communications and the people in network and systems administration," Weston added. "Their efforts are greatly appreciated."
