MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Kappa Upsilon, Georgia College & State University's Zeta Tau Alpha chapter, is teaming up with the Georgia College & State University women's basketball team to raise awareness for breast cancer research and education by "Packing the House in Pink" Tuesday, Nov. 18. at 7 p.m.
Zeta is encouraging all fans to come dressed in pink to the basketball game. Participants will receive a goodie bag filled with candy, coupons, a pink ribbon and information on breast cancer.
During halftime, Zeta Tau Alpha, is sponsoring two different competitions a yogurt eating contest that was popular last year and a "Gotcha" free throw competition. The winner of the yogurt eating contest will receive a GPS system and the winner of the free throw competition will receive a pink digital camera. Fans will also have the opportunity to win gift certificates from various local businesses and restaurants. Zeta Tau Alpha would also like to recognize breast cancer survivors who attend the Nov. 18 game.
"Zeta Tau Alpha is excited to bring Pack the House in Pink back to GCSU this basketball season," said vice president Kimberly Owens. "The ladies of Zeta Tau Alpha are delighted to make this an ongoing tradition of raising awareness."
This event will encourage students, faculty and the community to show their support for two great causes. Fans can cheer on the GCSU Lady Bobcats that have been listed in the national rankings many times over the years and is always one of the top teams in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC), as well as show their support for breast cancer awareness.
Along with fans the Lady Bobcats and GCSU's dance team the Sassy Cats will be showing their support. The Lady Bobcats will be wearing pink shoelaces while the Sassy Cats shimmy in pink. Donations toward the fight against breast cancer will be accepted during the game. Come help win the fight and celebrate Zeta's second annual "Pack the House in Pink."
