Bobcats Sizzle, Win Sixth Straight over Saints 65-47

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The women's hoops team at Georgia College & State University (13-4, 6-1 PBC) extended their win streak to six straight games tonight, defeating conference foe Flagler College (6-10, 1-6 PBC) 65-47. Georgia College has won by an average of 11.5 points a contest during their current win streak.

Junior guard Chimere Jordan (Gray, Ga.) once again led the ‘Cats in tonight's contest. The junior guard had 16 points and seven boards. Jordan was also second on the team with four assists.

Two seniors, guard Candice Clark (Warner Robins, Ga.) and forward Antoinette Reames (Orlando, Fla.), each aided the Bobcats with 13 points. Clark had a very impressive game all-around adding five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Reames grabbed seven caroms and tallied two more blocks, putting her at 102 in her two-year career at Georgia College.

Athens native Tammeisha Law joined in the scoring efforts with eight points and five boards. Shandrea Moore (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) had a game of seven, six, five and four. Moore snagged seven rebounds, scored six points, dished out five dimes and had four steals. Moore is now in 8th place all-time in the assist category at GCSU with 245.

Georgia College's defense dominated the final nine minutes of play. The Bobcats were leading by only nine with the score 47-38. The ‘Cats defensive pressure stepped up and only allowed the Saints to score nine the rest of the contest.

The Bobcats out-shot the Saints in all facets of the game. Georgia College hit .420 (26-62) to Flagler's .320 (18-57) from the floor. The Bobcats were .250 (3-12) from three-point land and .770 (10-13) from the free-throw line while the Saints hit .090 (1-11) from behind the arc and .560 (10-18) from the charity stripe.

Georgia College returns to the hardwood at home Friday, Jan. 29 against No. 17 Francis Marion University at 5:30 p.m.
