MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Chimere Jordan (Gray, Ga.) of the Georgia College & State University women's basketball team (14-5, 7-2 PBC) collected her second-straight Athlete of the Week award for the week ending Jan. 31. This marks the fourth time the junior guard has won the award and the fifth for head coach John Carrick's squad this season.
Jordan led the ‘Cats to 2-1 record last week averaging 22.7 a contest. The junior guard put up 16 points in the 65-47 win against Flagler College, also tallying seven rebounds and recorded four assists. Against No. 17 Francis Marion University, Jordan matched her career-high with 28 points in the 92-77 loss. The Gray native also grabbed a career-high with eight rebounds and matched a career-high with two swats. Jordan scored 24 points in the 61-56 victory over UNC Pembroke. She hit five three-pointers while going 7-of-8 from the charity stripe.
Georgia College hits the hardwood Wednesday, Feb. 3 against North Georgia at 5:30 p.m. in the Centennial Center.
