MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s basketball team and head coach Maurice Smith are pleased to announce the signing of Lisa Mitchell.
“Lisa is going to come here and do some great things,” said coach Smith. “She is going to be a terrific fit for the program. Lisa has a great work ethic to go with her love for basketball. She shoots the ball well and gives us another viable option as a shooter. We are very happy to have her.”
Mitchell is a native of Woodstock, Ga. and played under head coach Rick Bragg. She shot 34 percent from the field and 30 percent from beyond the arc, averaging 12 points per contest. Mitchell finished her career shooting 82 percent from the charity stripe.
Mitchell garnered second team all-region and first team all-county accolades. She was also the recipient of the Bobby Bailey Award. Mitchell aided her team to a 13-16 record and advanced to the first round of the state tournament.
Mitchell is planning to major in exercise science at Georgia College.
