MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Chimere Jordan (Gray, Ga.) of the Georgia College women’s basketball team (12-3, 4-3 PBC) was named Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 23, as announced by the conference yesterday. This is her first player of the week award of the season and third overall.
Jordan continued her dominance on the court in three games last week, averaging 20 points and nine rebounds per game. She began with 25 points and nine rebounds against Flagler and then had 17 points with seven boards in a win at Columbus State. She finished the week with 18 points and 11 boards against Montevallo to lead the Bobcats into second place in the west division.
She had six steals in the CSU game and averaged 3.3 steals per contest with 2.0 assists and 1.7 blocks per game. She has been the leading scorer in every Georgia College game this season and leads the Peach Belt in scoring with 21.4 ppg. She is also ninth in the league in rebounding, third in steals, seventh in free throw percentage and seventh in blocks.
The Bobcats travel to Francis Marion University for a 5:30 p.m. start Friday, Jan. 25.
