MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College & State University women’s basketball team has added Karisma Boykin, a Jacksonville State University transfer, to the 2010-11 roster.
Boykin, who originally hails from Carrolton, Ga., started in all 29 games for the Gamecocks her freshman year. She played a team-high 34.2 minutes a game, while averaging 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds. She also led the team in steals with 44, and assists with 83.
Prior to her time at Jacksonville State, Boykins was a four-year player at Carrolton High School where she led the team to an impressive 116-10 record during her tenure. During her time she directed the team to four state finals, winning two titles. The team was also a remarkable 45-0 at home during her career, a feat she can hopefully duplicate here at the Centennial Center.
The Bobcat women were PBC West Division Champions in 2009-10, compiling a 21-8 record overall. The ninth 20-win season in program history, it was the seventh since the program joined the NCAA Division II and the PBC. Georgia College put two players on the All-PBC teams a year ago.
