Bobcats Thrash Yellow Jackets, 94-42

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women's basketball (2-5) team got back on the right track, dismantling Allen University 94-42 Saturday evening at the Centennial Center.

The Bobcats used a barrage of steals to take down the Yellow Jackets who committed 32 turnovers, compared to just 15 from the 'Cats. Nine Georgia College players were involved in the season-high 20 steals.

A pair of Woodstock, Ga. natives, sophomore Krysta Lewis and freshman Lisa Mitchell, led the way offensively, putting in 15 points apiece.

Mitchell enjoyed the best game of her young Bobcat career, shooting a perfect 3-of-3 from the field, all coming from beyond the three-point line. She also added six free throws in as many attempts, pulling-down three boards as well.

GC remained hot from the free-throw line tonight, shooting 83.3 percent (25-of-30) to extend their Peach Belt Conference (PBC) lead in that category.

The 95-point outburst was the highest point total for a Bobcat squad since Jan. 12, 2008 when they scored 97 against the Bearcats of Lander University.

Georgia College had three other players in double-digits along with Lewis and Mitchell, including Terryuana Godwin (LaGrange, Ga.), Miklayn DeFoor (Gainesville, Ga.) and Enisha Donley (Loganville, Ga.).

Godwin, Donley and DeFoor all surpassed career-highs, pouring in 12, 12 and 13, respectively. DeFoor used 4-of-7 shooting from beyond-the-arc, paired with a free-throw to grab her 13.

The victory gives the Bobcats their second victory of the season at home, as they have yet to lose at the Centennial Center.

GC will be back on the road Wednesday, Dec. 14 as they head to Dahlonega, Ga. to take on the Saints of North Georgia in their first PBC matchup of the 2011-12 season.
