GC Women’s Basketball Adds Turner to Staff

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s basketball program and head coach Maurice Smith are pleased to announce the addition of graduate assistant coach Angelica Turner.

“Angelica is a great young lady with great experience,” said coach Smith. “She was an outstanding player in college and has a wealth of experience to pass on to our players. She is a woman of high integrity and character. Angelica is a true representation of our coaching staff and will be a great asset to the program.”

Turner comes to GC after graduating from Brewton Parker College in 2010, where she lettered in basketball under head coach DeCole Shoemate. She averaged six points per game in her senior season, shooting 34 percent from the field and 32 percent from three point range.

A native of Wedowee, Ala., Turner graduated from Randolph County High School, lettering in basketball under head coach Robyn Wortham, as well as track and cheerleading. She is currently pursuing her masters’ in middle school mathematics at Georgia College.
