GC Women’s Basketball Announces 2012-13 Schedule

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s basketball program and head coach Maurice Smith are happy to announce their 2012-13 schedule.

The season starts Monday, Nov. 5 when the Bobcats host Wesleyan College in an exhibition game at the Centennial Center with a start time of 6 p.m.

The regular season begins with a home game against the University of West Georgia Saturday, Nov. 10 at 5:30 p.m. The Bobcats will spend the next month on the road, highlighted by the Lady Saints Tip-Off Classic in Dahlonega, Ga. where the Bobcats will compete in the four-team tournament.

The Bobcats will play all but one game at home during December, including their first two Peach Belt Conference (PBC) games against Georgia Southwestern University Dec. 11 at 5:30 and Francis Marion University Dec. 15. at 1:30 p.m. Women’s basketball will also host the Stair South Classic Dec. 30-31.

The Bobcats will play nine games during January, all with PBC foes. The team will travel to Augusta State University Monday Jan. 21 for the Battle of the Cats at 5:30. They’ll also play the Division II Bulletin No. 6 Preseason team USC Aiken Thursday Jan. 24 at 5:30 p.m. The month will finish with a difficult match-up against No. 11 Clayton State University at 5:30 p.m.

February starts off with a home contest against Columbus State University Saturday Feb. 2 at 1:30 p.m. The Bobcats play more games away than at home during February but they’ll host the University of Montevallo Saturday Feb. 23 at 3:30 p.m. for homecoming.

The season will close when Armstrong will come to the Centennial Center for Senior Day March 2, a 1:30 p.m. game.
