MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Shanteona Keys (Roswell,Ga) joined the 1,000-point club (1,027) on the all-time career points list at Georgia College and had two double-digit scoring outings in a win and an overtime loss last week to earn her first Bobcat Athlete of the Week Award this season.
Keys totaled 38 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists in a pair of Peach Belt Conference (PBC) games that left the Bobcats at 4-2 in the PBC and 11-2 overall.
She erased a seven-point Flagler lead with a three-pointer that gave Georgia College the lead for the remainder of the contest, and the team's first win since breaking into the USA TODAY Sports NCAA Division II Coaches' Poll.
The 92-78 win at Flagler helped extend the team's road win streak to five and matched a team season-high in points. Keys scored a season-high 28 points, added five rebounds, and three assists.
In the overtime loss against Young Harris, Keys scored 10 points, seven boards, and three assists.
