COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Georgia College women's basketball team's (16-10, 9-10 PBC) quarterfinal Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament game will be Thursday, March 6 at 1 p.m. The West Division fourth-seeded Bobcats will take on the East Division's first-seeded Armstrong Atlantic State University (19-6, 14-5 PBC).
The winner of the Georgia College Armstrong game moves to the semifinal round Saturday, March 8 for a matchup against the winner of the East Division's third-seeded USC Aiken (11-17, 9-10 PBC) and the West Division's second-seeded University of North Georgia (21-5, 15-4 PBC). USC Aiken and North Georgia play immediately after the Bobcats' quarterfinal game with a 3 p.m. start time Thursday, March 6
If the Bobcats were to advance beyond the semifinal round, the 2014 PBC Tournament Championship Game is slated for Sunday, March 9 at 2 p.m. Georgia College could face one of four teams in the final that include Flagler College (12-14, 10-9 PBC) and Lander University (12-16, 7-12 PBC), the East Division's second and fourth seeds, respectively; and Clayton State University (21-5, 16-3 PBC) and Columbus State University (18-7, 13-6 PBC), the West Division's first and third seeds, respectively.
The Bobcats make their first PBC postseason appearance since winning the tournament in 2011 against USC Aiken, 62-49. This will also be Georgia College's 21st appearance since the PBC Tournament began in 1992.
