MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – It didn't come easy, but the Georgia College Women's Basketball team (8-5, 5-2 PBC) picked up their seventh victory in their last eight, topping Clayton State University (6-7, 3-4 PBC) 69-67 Wednesday night in the Centennial Center.

Senior Ta'Asia Wright (Denmark, South Carolina) came off the bench to lead the Bobcats with 17 points and eight boards, going 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. Classmate Brianna Davis (Rockford, Illinois) added 16 points and four assists, while junior Erin Drynan (Chicago, Illinois) posted 14 points and eight rebounds to the cause.

The Bobcats led on the first bucket of the game, but wouldn't lead again until the 7:53 mark of the second quarter. Halftime brought a 29-29 tie. Davis had 11 of her 16 after halftime to help the Bobcats pull off the win. Clayton State scored the final six points of the ballgame, but couldn't inch any closer as the Bobcats were able to run out the clock.

Georgia College out-shot the Lakers 46 percent (25-54) to 36 percent (23-65) from the field and controlled the glass at 49-36. Clayton State kept it close by taking advantage of a plus-six in turnover margin.

The win ends an impressive run for the Lakers against Georgia College, a 15-game win streak for the Lakers dating back to Feb. 6, 2010.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Jan. 13 at 1:30 p.m., playing host to No. 25 Lander University.
