MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Junior Kara Teresi (Tampa, Fla.) of the Georgia College & State University women's soccer team was elected Georgia College Athlete of the Week. The announcement came today (Nov. 12) from the sports information department. The award honors the top performance by a Bobcat athlete during the week ending Nov. 9.
Teresi scored her first goal of the season against Lander University in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) quarterfinal match-up. The Bobcats defeated the Bearcats 2-0 Nov. 4. Teresi and the Bobcat defense gave up only two goals in the PBC playoffs, both against UNC Pembroke in which the Bobcats lost 2-1. Teresi was also named to the PBC All-Tournament team this past weekend in Evans, Ga.
Georgia College is back in action Friday Nov. 14 in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament against Catawba College at 7 p.m. The Bobcats earned their first NCAA Tournament selection in program history.
