Bobcat Soccer Hosts “Little Feet Friendlies” Saturday

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - This weekend the Georgia College & State University soccer program and head coach Juan Pablo Favero look to make an impact on the field as well as across the world, as the Bobcats host the second "Little Feet Friendlies".  The four exhibition contests take place Saturday, April 18 at Bobcat Field.  The public is invited to attend.

Georgia College will open and close the event, with games at 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  The two contests will mark the end of the Bobcats' spring season.  Joining GCSU will be the Georgia Futbol Club (Lawrenceville, Ga.), Augusta Arsenal (Augusta, Ga.), Norcross Soccer (Norcross, Ga.), and College Experience (South Carolina).

The event is designed to promote Little Feet, an organization that distributes soccer balls to underprivileged children all over the world.  For every soccer ball purchased through Little Feet, a ball is donated to a third-world country.  To date, Little Feet has sent over 23,000 soccer balls across the globe.

The GCSU soccer program supports Little Feet, as the Bobcats became the first team in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) to purchase all of its soccer balls through the organization.  The Bobcats hope to spread the word about Little Feet in a big way this weekend, as members from the company will be on hand to speak with the soccer clubs in attendance.

The Bobcats are coming off the best season in program history, making their first trip to the NCAA Tournament, entering the NSCAA Division II National Poll and reaching as high as No. 19. Georgia College was 13-3-4 for the best winning percentage in school history.
