MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) unveiled its Women's Soccer Preseason All-Conference Team today (Aug. 21) with a pair of Georgia College & State University Bobcats taking home honors. Morgan Cobb (Cataula, Ga.) and Hayley Ferrell (Hampton, Ga.) were selected to the team. The league's sports information directors select the honorees each year.
Cobb and Ferrell were also named all-conference in 2007. In addition, Cobb was named to the PBC All-Tournament Team and Daktronics All-South Atlantic Region for the defense where she helped the Bobcats set a school record with only 17 goals allowed. Offensively, Ferrell set school records with 34 points and 16 goals in 2007 to earn her second all-conference honor.
Georgia College women's soccer kicks the season off Aug. 29 against Belmont Abbey College at Bobcat Field at 7 p.m. This will be the first game under head coach Juan Pablo Favero. On Aug. 19, the Bobcats were picked to finish third in the PBC by the league's coaches.
The Bobcats are back after their best season in school history. Last year they finished 13-5, 5-3 in conference play. The Bobcats return 19 players and add seven newcomers to their roster.
