#21 Bobcats Amidst Nation’s Defensive Elite

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- The No. 21 Georgia College & State University women's soccer team has four nationally-ranked team statistics and two individual rankings from goalie Mary Rob Plunkett (Augusta, Ga.).

The Bobcats are No. 8 in goals-against average, giving opponents a 0.39 GAA. Also ranked No. 8 is the impressive shutout percentage. Out of the 13 games played this season nine have ended with the opponents being shut-out. On the other side, the Bobcats themselves have only been shut-out three times, two of which resulted in tied games. GCSU is tied with both the University of Indianapolis and West Chester University for the shutout category.

Save percentage is ranked No. 9 with 38 total saves out of 43 chances, giving a percentage of .884.

The last team statistic ranked is the No. 23 win-loss-tie percentage (0.792) falling right behind Peach Belt Conference (PBC) opponent Columbus State University. The Bobcats have compiled a 9-1-3 record in regular season thus far.

Individually, Plunkett has kept herself in the rankings, assisting with the goals-against average and save percentage stats. Plunkett ranks No. 9 nationally in goals-against average (0.357) having played 1010 minutes and only allowing four goals. No. 7 in save percentage, Plunkett has 35 saves in 39 chances accumulating a 0.897 percentage.

The Bobcats are only out-ranked once by any PBC school in their personal standings whether team or individual.

Georgia College is back in action Sunday, Oct. 19 on the road against Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn. at 1 p.m.
