MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- In an effort to raise funds and spread knowledge of the organization, the Life Enrichment Center (LEC) will hold a bake sale at Bobcat Field during the Georgia College & State University soccer game Wednesday, Oct. 21 kicking-off at 5 p.m.
GIVE Center Director Kendall Stiles said she hopes the bake sale will not only help out the LEC, but will also promote awareness about its message.
"The Life Enrichment Center always holds so many great events every year; I'm really excited to see them get involved with Georgia College Athletics," Stiles said.
The center provides individuals with developmental disabilities living in the Middle Georgia area with the opportunity to meet individualized goals through employment and personal and social services. One organization that is near and dear to the LEC's heart is the Special Olympics.
"I hope that the money raised by the bake sale will benefit the Life Enrichment Center Special Olympics team in their future competitions," Stiles said.
The Bobcats will take on UNC Pembroke with victory in mind as well as steady preparation and focus for the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament, which will begin in early November.
