Bobcat Soccer Among Nation’s Defensive Best

 

INDIANAPOLIS - The Georgia College & State University's soccer team  (6-5-3, 2-1-2 PBC) defense continues to rise in the NCAA Division II National Statistical Rankings.

The Bobcats take the 35th spot in GAA with 0.732 and 29th in save percentage at 0.847. West Chester is the GAA national leader with 0.151, while also leading in save percentage with 0.947.

The Georgia College defense also took the No. 59 spot in shutout percentage with 0.429. The Bobcats have tallied six shutouts for the 2009 campaign.   

Georgia College's Mary Rob Plunkett (Augusta, Ga.) holds the No. 20 position for GAA with 0.525 while claiming the No. 15 slot for save percentage with 0.891 in the national statistics.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Oct. 17 as they travel to Flagler University to take on the Peach Belt Conference opponent at 2 p.m.
