MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Freshman women’s soccer student-athlete Ashley Veilleux (Monroe, Ga.) has been tabbed Georgia College Athlete of the Week for the second time in her short career, as announced by the Sports Information Department Tuesday afternoon.
Veilleux helped propel the Bobcats into the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament this past week with her brilliant performance against USC Aiken Wednesday, Oct. 26.
The rookie midfielder notched two goals on four shots, en route to a 6-0 victory for the ‘Cats. She also managed another shot against Flagler College Saturday night.
Overall, Veilleux has accounted for a team-high five goals, as well as three assists giving her 13 points on the season.
She also captured GC Athlete of the Week honors back in September, making her the second two-time recipient of the award this year.
The women’s soccer team will head to Savannah, Ga. today to take on the No. 1 seed Armstrong Pirates in the first round of the PBC Tournament. Be sure to catch all the action on http://www.ustream.tv/GCBobcats beginning at 1:50 p.m.
