GC Women’s Soccer Holds Third Annual Alumni Game

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -  The Georgia College women's soccer team recently hosted its third annual Alumni Game at Bobcat Field Saturday, April 6.

GC head women's soccer coach, Hope Clark said the event was a great success and she was extremely happy with the turn out this year.

"It was very nice to meet some new players that have been unable to attend in the past years and some from the very first year of the program," said Clark. "These women have shaped Georgia College soccer into what it is now and I am so grateful for their desire to be a continued part of the program.  Our hope is that we make our Alumni proud, and I think the current players are doing just that."

More than 15 Georgia College soccer alumni headed out to the all so familiar soccer fields to play the current women's soccer team.

While there was the excitement of reuniting with old teammates, it was also apparent that it was going to be a competitive game as it continues to be each year. The match ended in a tight 2-0 victory for the current squad.

Each year after the game Clark invites both teams for food and drinks, which gives the players and coaches a chance to reconnect with each other.

"I received some heartfelt and positive feedback from the Alumni about our current players and program, and as a coach that makes me very proud. I know that we are on the right track.  I hope to continue building our relationships and events with our Alumni and I would like to thank all who attended and those that were not able to attend for their continued support of Bobcat Soccer."
