KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released the 2011-12 College Team Academic Award list recently, with the Georgia College soccer squad earning a spot on the list.
To qualify for the honor, teams must post a GPA above 3.0 for the 2011-12 school year. Georgia College posted a 3.21 GPA a year ago.
The Bobcats were one of four Peach Belt Conference (PBC) women’s soccer teams to earn the honor, joining Armstrong, Columbus State University and North Georgia.
The season has come to a close for GC soccer, a 2012 campaign featuring wins over three nationally-ranked opponents among the school’s 10-8-1 record. The Bobcats picked up double-digit victories for the first time since 2009.
