GC Soccer Strikes Fast to Beat Young Harris 1-0
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Georgia College women's soccer team (5-5-1, 2-3-1 PBC) picked up its fifth win and second in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play Wednesday at Young Harris College (3-7, 0-5 PBC) 1-0.
The Bobcats wasted no time in putting the ball into the back of the net, off the foot of Kacey McInerney (Alpharetta, Ga.), her first goal of the season. The goal came 1:04 minutes into the match and was the only one of the day between the two teams.
The defense for Georgia College was spectacular, allowing just three shots on goal for the match. Annie Stephens (Fayetteville, Ga.) played all 90 minutes for the Bobcats and ended the match with three saves. It was the first shutout of the season for Stephens and the sixth of her career.
