DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Former Georgia College Soccer All-American Mary Rob Plunkett (2010) has been promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Business at the University of North Georgia, Director of Athletics Lindsay Reeves announced in June. Plunkett has spent the past two years with UNG athletics as its Assistant Athletic Director and will continue in her role as the department's Senior Woman Administrator.
"Mary Rob has been a great addition to our senior leadership team," said Reeves. "Her energy and attention to details has helped serve our student-athletes and coaches and I am look forward to her continued contributions to our department's success."
Plunkett is responsible for serving as the liaison between the University's controller, business services and athletics. Her day-to-day activities include making sure the Department of Athletics complies with state and NCAA regulations for all business transactions, auditing scholarships and student accounts while also managing the athletic department budget, business office, team and staff travel and accounts receivable/payables.
At Georgia College, Plunkett was a four-time letterman and team captain on the women's soccer team. She was selected as a NSCAA third-team All-America, as well as a first-team Academic All-American in 2009. Plunkett was twice named All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) in her four seasons, and still owns the school records for career saves, shutouts, goals against average, wins, save percentage and minutes.
She landed in Dahlonega after stints at Auburn University and the University of North Carolina.
