SAVANNAH, Ga. - The No. 31 Georgia College & State University women's tennis team (3-5) lost its second-straight match, falling 5-0 to No. 2 Lynn University (7-1) Saturday in neutral site action at Armstrong Atlantic State University.
In doubles action, the Bobcat French duo of Diane Danna (Paris) and Bertille Lion (Lyon, France) lost to the No. 10 ranked pair of Magdalena Ekert and Katerina Jiskrova. Slotted second, Lynn's Eleonora Iannozzi and Jessica Yanoff defeated Kayla Barksdale (Matinez, Ga.) and Michelle Lingner (Dunwoody, Ga.) 8-3.
Georgia College's Adriana Acuna (Peachtree City, Ga.) and Linda Mosa (Stockholm, Sweden) fell 8-1 against Christine Johnstone and Tessie Salame, giving the Fighting Knights a 3-0 lead going into singles play.
At fourth singles, No. 37 ranked Yanoff downed Lingner 6-0 and 6-2, while Johnstone beat Acuna 6-1 and 6-0.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, March 7 traveling to No. 23 Flagler College for a noon start.
