GC Women’s Tennis Moves up Four Spots in the National Poll to 26, Stays Put in Region

SKILLMAN, N.J.. – The Georgia College Women’s Tennis team (11-5, 6-2 PBC) moved up four spots to No. 26 in the ITA Tennis National Poll and stays at No. 6 in the region poll as announced by the ITA Sunday, March 27.
GC most recently went 2-2 on their annual spring break trip to Pensacola, Fla. The Bobcats lost to the No. 5 University of West Florida, 7-2 and the unranked University of North Alabama in a heartbreaker, 5-4. The Bobcats two wins came against No. 34 Delta State University, 6-3 and toppled No. 41 Drury University, 8-1.
Other Peach Belt Conference (PBC) teams featured in the national poll are top-ranked Armstrong Atlantic, No. 8 Columbus State University, No. 10 Flagler College, No. 12 Clayton State University, No. 14 Francis Marion University, and rounding out the long list is No. 35 Augusta State University.
The top-six teams in the region consist of PBC teams with Armstrong Atlantic leading the group. Columbus State and Flagler College are two and three, respectively. Clayton State sits at No. 4 with Francis Marion following at No. 5.
GC will travel to No. 12 Clayton State University Wednesday, March 30, slated for 2:30 p.m.
