– For Georgia College women’s tennis, the
second day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA)
Southeast Regionals was highlighted by the continued winning ways
of freshman Katie Krupp (Evans, Ga.) who notched
her second and third victories as a member of the Georgia College
women’s tennis team.
After winning her first ever match as a Bobcat on Friday, Krupp
continued play in the ‘B’ Flight Saturday, easily
winning her morning matchup against Ariel Svantesson of Limestone
College 6-0, 6-2. She would be back in action in the afternoon
taking on another athlete from Limestone, Julia Moreira. Krupp
would lose the first set 2-6 but would battle back and to take the
second set 6-2 and shut out Moreira in the third set 6-0.
The rest of the women’s team was not as successful as Krupp
Saturday. Kayla Barksdale (Augusta, Ga.) fell 6-2, 6-4
to Oliveira Jokic from Columbus State University while Ivana Marevic (Rottweil, Germany) would lose
6-3, 6-3 to Mia Winterbottom from UNC Pembroke.
Krupp will be the only Bobcat on the women’s team still in
action Sunday as she moves into the Semifinals for the
‘B’ Flight.
