Ga. – Senior Kayla Barksdale (Augusta, Ga.) was busy during
the final day of the Georgia College Women’s Tennis Fall
Championships. She was still active in Flight “A”
singles play as well as Flight “A” Doubles play,
picking up runner-up slots in both.
Barksdale started Saturday off with a 6-1, 6-1 semifinal win over Julia Baltas of the University of Tampa. Barksdale would face off for championship against last year’s winner, Thashia Garcia, dropping 6-2, 6-1 decision.
Barksdale would continue her day as she joined doubles partner Katie Krupp (Evans, Ga.) and faced Meg Wladimirski and Lauren Hewett of Tampa. Krupp and Barksdale would keep the match close, but eventually fell 8-3.
Today’s action concludes the fall schedule for Bobcat women’s tennis. The GC tennis squads will return to the courts during the championship season, beginning in February.
