#34 GC Women’s Tennis Blanks Clark Atlanta, 9-0
ATLANTA – The No. 34 Georgia College women's tennis squad (2-1) posted its second shutout of the young season, taking down Clark Atlanta University (1-5) Sunday on the road, 9-0.
The domination started early with a sweep of doubles, surrendering just five games.
In first doubles, Camille Clausse-Pujo (Bordeaux, France)and Macy Polk (Powder Springs, Ga.) teamed for an 8-3 win over Vonnick Boyogueno and Brionne Bachus. In the second slot, Ivana Marevic (Rottweil, Germany) and Katie Krupp (Evans, Ga.) made short work of Asia Boyd and Tori Pradier, 8-2. The lone doubles shutout came in the third slot, as Cristalei Polk (Powder Springs, Ga.) and Hannah Serdinia (Suwannee, Ga.) defeated Ivory Conley and Avern Gumbs. Krupp and Marevic remain undefeated on the season at 3-0.
In singles action, Clausse-Pujo got things started with a shutout of Vanessa Jean-Baptiste in the second slot. The match-clinching win came from Marevic in third singles 6-1, 6-0 over Bachus.
Krupp won 6-0, 6-2 over Gumbs in the sixth slot and Serdinia took a pair of 6-2 sets over Boyd in fifth singles. Cristalei Polk won 6-2, 6-1 over Boyogueno in fourth singles, and her sister closed out the sweep with a 6-2, 7-6 effort in the first slot over Pradier.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m., kicking off Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play at Georgia Southwestern State University.
