MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Freshman Macy Polk (Powder Springs, Ga.) of the No. 29 Georgia College women's tennis team (19-8) was named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for her efforts during the week ending May 4. This marks the second such honor for both Polk and Bobcat women's tennis this season.
Polk went 2-0 Sunday, leading the Bobcat tennis squad to a 5-1 victory over Flagler College in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Polk and Hannah Serdinia teamed for a dominant 8-1 in second doubles. Next up, Polk set down Barbora Sebkova in first singles 6-2, 6-0 to set the tone for a singles sweep and a Bobcat victory. Polk finished 16-7 in singles action this season.
Another outstanding season has come to a close for GC Women's Tennis, making the 20th straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament with a 19-8 mark. The Bobcats took fifth place in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament, and placed Macy Polk on the All-PBC Team.
