MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its Presidential Honor Roll recipients, with 96 Georgia College student-athletes making the list. The program honors all student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2012-13 academic year.
For the sixth season, the PBC divided the group into four levels by GPA, as all students between 3.00 and 3.24 are Presidential Scholars, 3.25 to 3.49 are Bronze Scholars, 3.50 to 3.74 are Silver Scholars and 3.75 to 4.00 are Gold Scholars.
Bobcat women’s soccer had the most with 19 student-athletes on the list, also owning the department’s third-best ratio at 86 percent (19/22). Softball was second with 15, while baseball and women’s cross country tied at third with 13 student-athletes each making the list. The women’s cross country team also had the top spot in per-roster ratio at 93 percent (13/14), with the women’s tennis squad owning the second-best ratio at 89 percent (8/9). Six of the 10 varsity sports had at least half of the student-athletes on their roster make this prestigious list. Georgia College had 24 Gold Scholars, 22 Silver Scholars, 22 Bronze Scholars and 28 Presidential Scholars.
