MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 21 Georgia College Women's Tennis team (15-7) begins play at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Wingate, North Carolina Saturday at 1 p.m. as the No. 3-seed Bobcats take on the No. 6-seed University of North Georgia (14-7).
The Bobcats are two wins away from a trip to the NCAA Finals in Surprise, Arizona.
This marks the third time Georgia College and UNG have squared off this season. The Bobcats own two 5-4 victories this season, one in Milledgeville and another in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Semifinals.
Part of the strength of the Bobcats this season has been third-fifth singles, as Emilia Richter (Berlin, Germany), Kristen Jones (Marietta) and Paula Garriga (Barcelona, Spain) have gone a combined 45-11.
Should the Bobcats top the Nighthawks for the third time, they will advance to take on the winner of No. 2-seed Wingate University and No. 7-seed Chowan University. Sunday, April 29.
Wingate will have video and live stats of Saturday's matches available at their tournament site here: http://wingatebulldogs.com/sports/2018/4/25/wten-championship-central.aspx .
