Georgia College Women's Tennis Prepares for 2018 season

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. The Georgia College Women's Tennis team starts the 2018 season Saturday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. traveling to Brenau University.

Steve Barsby is in his 18th year as head coach for both men's and women's tennis at Georgia College. The Bobcats finished the 2017 season 12-11 (7-5 PBC), making an appearance in the NCAA Regional Tournament. For the 23rd straight season, the longest active streak in Division II.

Seniors and doubles partners Jena Kelly (Lawrenceville) and Emma Niemi (Cumming) earned All-PBC status last season. They enter the season as the No. 16 doubles pairing in the nation.

Kelly named Preseason All-PBC taking a spot on the six-member list. She enters the 2018 season as the No. 33-ranked singles player in the country with nine victories last season, including five in PBC play.

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
