MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College Women's Tennis team (6-2) remained undefeated at home for the 2019 campaign after downing Concord University (0-1) by a 5-0 margin Tuesday afternoon at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.
A pair of quick matches kicked off the day for Georgia College, winning in the first and second slots to secure the first team point of the day. Neither Bobcat pairing surrendered a single game, claiming victory by 6-0 margins.
Valeria Lopez (Galicia, Spain) and Emma Fleming (Suwanee) handled Brook King and Emily Hendricks in the first slot, while Jordan Bowie (Macon) and Irina Berklich (Atlanta) clinched doubles with a win over Carri Ziegler and Alli Chambers in the second.
Fleming, Bowie and Berklich each picked up their second win of the day after dominating singles play in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Fleming once again downed Hendricks, Bowie outdueled Chambers and Berklich controlled Ziegler.
In top-flight singles, Kim Yatribi (Frejus, France) also picked up a win versus Brook King, 6-0, 6-1.
The Bobcat women remain in non-conference play for their next matchup, taking on Emmanuel College (Ga.) on the road Friday, March 15 at 1 p.m.
