ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Georgia College volleyball team (3-7, 1-2 PBC) took on a 2012 NCAA Tournament Qualifier in Flagler College (5-4, 2-1 PBC), battling to a straight-set loss on the road, 25-17, 25-10 and 25-19.
Rachel Reynolds (Marietta, Ga.) finished with eight kills to lead the squad, hitting just .080 however, as the Bobcats hit .023 as a team. Haley Ashworth (Cumming, Ga.) added five kills to the effort.
The Flagler squad hit .261 on the match, despite the Bobcats' best defensive effort in the third set of a .175 attack percentage. The Saints had a big advantage on the front line, getting a 9-1 advantage in blocks.
Emilee Taylor led the Saints with 10 kills; the Preseason All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) pick was the lone player on either team with double-digit kills. Preseason All-PBC setter Amelia Morgan had 16 assists with seven digs.
The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. traveling to defending PBC Champion Armstrong Atlantic State University.
