MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Volleyball team (8-3) controlled three sets in a sweep victory over Albany State University (9-7) in non-conference action Friday at the Centennial Center.
"Tonight was an all-around team effort," said head coach Gretchen Krumdieck. "Each person did their job and all 11 played as one unit. I'm very proud of all of them tonight."
The Bobcats hit a strong .288 for the match with just 11 errors, both numbers marking Georgia College's best this season. Junior Taylor Svehla (Cumming) sent down 12 kills without a single error for a whopping .600 percentage. Sophomore Nicole Cohen (Atlanta) provided eight kills and setter Kayla Brockway (Jacksonville, Florida) added seven.
Senior Chandler Ewaldsen (Savannah) led the team with 13 digs, while Brockway was a boxscore filler at 32 assists, nine digs, three aces and the aforementioned seven kills.
The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m., traveling to the University of West Georgia.
