MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior libero Chandler Ewaldsen (Savannah) of the Georgia College Volleyball team (24-8, 8-4 PBC) has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 3.
Ewaldsen wrapped up her career with a spot on the NCAA Southeast Regional All-Tournament Team with her play this past week. She had 33 digs in the win over USC Aiken in the first round, and adding 16 more in the semifinals against Wingate University.
The Bobcats finish the season as the best team in program history, setting a school record for wins both overall and in conference. Georgia College picked up its first NCAA Tournament win, its first Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament win, and advanced to the PBC Tournament Championship for the first time. Kayla Brockway won Setter of the Year in the PBC, and coach Gretchen Krumdieck won the PBC's Coach of the Year Award. Brockway and Taylor Svehla were both named to the PBC First Team, while Ebony Powers took home All-PBC Second Team honors.
