MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College volleyball program and head coach Gretchen Krumdieck had a busy early signing period, adding Haley Ashworth among others for the upcoming inaugural season.
“Haley is very dynamic and will make a huge contribution to this first team,” revealed Krumdieck. “She has a strong work ethic and her positive attitude will set a good tone for the Bobcats.”
A native of Cumming, Ga., Ashworth played volleyball at West Forsyth High for head coach Jim Orr. Chosen to the All-Region 6AAAAAA Second Team, she played four seasons for the Wolverines. A team MVP and captain, she has twice been picked for the All-County squad as well. Ashworth plays club ball for ProLink Atlanta.
Georgia College added volleyball as its 11th varsity sport last fall, set to begin play in the NCAA Division II Peach Belt Conference (PBC) in fall 2013.
