MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University cross country squads were each picked to finish third in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Preseason Coaches Poll, released Aug. 20.

The third slot is familiar to Bobcat fans, as both teams took third at last year's PBC Championships in Alabama.

The Bobcat men return three runners from last year's PBC team, including All-PBC selection Josh Hollar (Canton, Ga.). Head coach Joe Samprone was also named PBC Men's Coach of the Year in 2007.

The Georgia College women's squad had a school-best finish with last year's third-place slot. The Bobcat women return five runners from last year's PBC team, and are graced with two all-conference returnees in junior Bonnie Ueltzen (Blairsville, Ga.) and Dani Destiche (Snellville, Ga.).

The Bobcats begin the 2008 season Saturday, Aug. 30 at the University of New Hampshire.
