Raines Named GCSU Athlete of the Week

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Senior Heather Raines  (Lawrenceville, Ga.) of the Georgia College & State University women's cross country team was named the GCSU Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 18, the sports information office announced today (Oct. 20). This is the second consecutive honor for Raines as well as the women's cross country team.

Raines finished ninth place overall in the 5K race at the St. Michael's College Invitational. She led the Bobcats to a runner-up finish to Division I University of Vermont and was the top non-Division I runner. Raines finished at 19:50, only six seconds away from the Georgia College record in the 5K.

The Bobcats are back in action Oct. 24 for the PBC Championship at UNC Pembroke at 10 a.m.
