AUGUSTA, Ga. – Teammates Allison Lones (Kathleen, Ga.) and Victoria Dobson (New Hamburg, Ontario) of the Georgia College cross country team were both named to the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Women’s Cross Country All-Academic Team Wednesday.
Lones, a junior nursing major, earned her Honorable Mention with a cumulative GPA of 3.37. Dobson, a senior, holds a cumulative GPA of 3.69 as an English major.
Lones is a two-time All-PBC runner, making the team as a freshman and sophomore. She was also named an All-Southeast Region in 2011. Dobson is a three-time member of the PBC All-Academic team and a two-time PBC Gold Scholar.
In order to be eligible for the All-Academic team, student athletes must meet several qualifications. The athlete must participate in at least half of the team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor to the team, achieve a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and complete at least one full academic year at their current institution.
The Bobcats will next be competing Saturday, Nov. 3 when they travel to Charlotte, N.C. to compete in the NCAA Southeast Regional Race.
