MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Katherine Yost (Norcross) of the Georgia College Women's Cross Country team has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for her efforts during the week ending Oct. 22. This marks the fourth time this season the Bobcat runner has picked up this honor.
Yost topped the 89-runner field at the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championships to become the first Peach Belt Champion in GC Cross Country history Saturday. Yost buzzed through the 5K course in 17:18, topping the field by 13 seconds and snapping her own school record of 18:09 in the distance. Yost's time is tops in the PBC this season, and breaks the conference-championship record of 17:20 set in 2006.
The Bobcats will be back in action at the NCAA Southeast Regional Saturday, Nov. 4 in Wingate, North Carolina.
