MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced its end-of-season academic honors, with the Georgia College Women's Cross Country team earning the spot for individual and team NCAA Division II All-Academic honors.
The women's team earned a 3.72 overall GPA for the fall 2017 season, and had six runners earn All-Academic honors.
The Bobcats were one of four women's cross country teams in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) on the list, owning the league's top GPA at 3.72. Columbus State University, Francis Marion University, University of North Georgia and UNC Pembroke join the Bobcats.
Senior Katherine Yost (Norcross), senior Rebecca Winslow (Lawrenceville), sophomore Anna Tipton (Hartwell), sophomore Grace Lynch (Lawrenceville), freshman Sydney Brown (Canton), and freshman Tessa Allen (Atlanta) earned individual honors for the women's team.
The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup and the 2017 PBC Sportsmanship Institution of the Year, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
