Bobcats Sweep Honors At PBC Cross Country Awards

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) held its year-end Cross Country awards Friday night, with Georgia College sweeping the league’s highest academic honor in the Elite-15 Awards.

Senior Sarah Wilder (Tifton) was the Elite-15 winner on the women’s side, boasting a 4.0 GPA in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics. Wilder is the first in GC Women’s Cross Country history to win the award.

Shawn Olmstead (Buford) brings in the award on the men’s side, pulling in a 3.80 in Exercise Science with a Biology minor. Olmstead gives the Bobcats back-to-back winners on the men’s side, with Brian Skoglind taking it in 2017.

The PBC also revealed its All-Sportsmanship Team, with Austin Campbell (Cumming) and Rachel Boulineau (Canton) representing the Bobcats.

The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, Nov. 3 at 9 a.m. for the PBC Championship, hosted by Augusta University.

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup and the 2017 PBC Sportsmanship Institution of the Year, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
