MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has just released the 2018 NCAA DII Cross Country Regional Rankings for week two of the women’s season.

In a powerful Southeast Region, the Georgia College Women’s Cross Country team is ranked seventh. Georgia College is third among Peach Belt Conference (PBC) opponents in the rankings behind the University of North Georgia (fourth) and Flagler College (sixth). Queens University (N.C.), the University of Mount Olive, Anderson University (S.C.) and Wingate University round out the rest of the top seven.

Georgia College rose one spot as they joined Flagler in leapfrogging Augusta University which dropped two spots to eighth. The Bobcats rise in the rankings follows a strong showing in the 2018 Jaguar XC Invitational, where they finished second overall out of 10 teams. Sydney Brown (Canton) and Maddy Howe (Dacula) both placed in the top 10 overall.

GC Women’s Cross Country continues their season Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.
