MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Women’s Cross Country team is gearing up for the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championships this Saturday, Nov. 3 at Redcliffe Plantation in Beech Island, South Carolina.
The Bobcat women haven't finished lower than fourth at any of their four regular-season races. This includes a first-place finish at the Louisville Classic and a runner-up finish at the Jaguar Invitational in South Carolina.
Sophomore Sydney Brown (Canton) led the Bobcats in three of the four races. She finished second overall at the Jaguar Invite, 11th at the Louisville Classic, and 17th overall at the Bobcat Invitational where she crossed the 6K finish line with a personal best of 23:33.
Juniors Maddy Howe (Dacula) and Rachel Boulineau (Canton) have been dominant with second and third spots, respectively, for the team throughout the last three races of the regular season. Junior Grace Lynch (Snellville) and sophomore Tessa Allen (Atlanta) also ran well this season, with notable second- and third-place spots for the team at the Border Clash, following close behind Boulineau who clinched the first spot for the Bobcats and 12th overall.
Georgia College finished third in last year’s PBC Championships, just one place behind the all-time school best, set in 2006 when the Bobcats took runner-up in Smiths Station, Alabama.
The women’s race begins Saturday at 10:15 a.m. Follow live video through the PBC YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/PeachBeltConference/live
