Steven Cary enters his second season at the helm of the Bobcats, and his sixth total season the with team, holding an already impressive resume. In Cary's first year in charge, the Bobcats excelled athletically and academically. 

The women's team finished eighth overall at the PBC Championships and earned a spot in the NCAA Southeast Regional where they earned a top-15 finish, placing 13th. Katherine Yost earned an All-Region Team honor.

In the classroom, the team finished with a remarkable 3.63 GPA, the second highest team GPA for a Georgia College program during the 2015-16 academic year. Six members of the team were named to the PBC All-Academic team and eleven members of the team were name to the PBC's Presidential Honor Roll. Rachel Pasko was named Academic All-District.

On the men's side the Bobcats had one of the better seasons in school history.

The men finished second at the Georgia College hosted Georgia DII Collegiate Championship, had two runners place in the top-20 of the Peach Belt Conference Championship to push the team to a fourth place finish. Paul McNeil was named to the NCAA All-Southeast Region Team as he led the team to a seventh place region finish. 

The men also excelled in the classroom, as James Ryden was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District Honoree and the team finished with 11 PBC Presidential Scholars. Two Bobcat men, Ryden and Thomas Templeman were named to the PBC All-Academic Team.

In his role as assistant coach, Cary worked in all facets for the Bobcat Cross Country program. Handling recruiting, training and running practices. He was also instrumental in forming the relationship to set up the Council Farm Cross Country Course, which will the host the 2016 Peach Belt Conference Championship this fall and hosted the Division II Georgia Collegiate Championships last October.

In his first year as head coach and in his four years as assistant coach, the Bobcats have all but completely rewritten the record books at all distances.

Cary ran four seasons at Valdosta State University, and served as a Blazer student-assistant coach for the 2010 campaign. He received his undergrad degree in English from VSU and a Master’s in human performance at Georgia College in 2013.

Cary and his wife, Jordanne have two sons, Noah and Owen. The Carys live in Milledgeville.
